Daniela is 16 years old and is studying her first year of high school at the General Francisco Menendez National Institute. She entered the Scholarship Program in January this year. Daniela lives with her mother, father, brother and sister. Daniela says is thrilled to be part of the program, and feels very fortunate for the opportunity she has to attend high school thanks to the scholarship. When she was told about her admission into the program, Daniela couldn’t believe it. She says being in the program is a great opportunity that comes with many responsibilities. The main obstacle facing Daniela for completion of her studies is the financial situation of her family, as her parents make a great effort to afford all their children’s education. Daniela wants to study in a university after her high school graduation, and then she plans on looking for work to be independent and buy her own house.
