Gabriela, 18, is in her second year of high school at the Complejo Educativo General Francisco Menéndez in El Espino, where she lives with her mother–who does laundry for a living–and two younger sisters.

Gabriela wakes each school day at around 5 a.m., after which she walks 2o minutes to school from her home. Class starts at 7 a.m. and Gabriela generally doesn’t return home until 5 in the evening.

We asked Gabriela to answer a few questions to get to know her better. Below are her responses!
